About Us

Originally known as B&D Shoe Repairs and owned by Brent Durban and Ithyl Bull, Brent became the sole owner of the business in 1996, and the name was changed to Durban's Shoe Repairs.

In 2008 Dewi Durban joined the family business and became a partner in the company. One year later, Dewi moved to San Francisco, California to further his expertise in Shoe Repair.

While in San Francisco, Dewi worked at Anthony's Shoe Service, which was voted one of the Best Shoe Repairs in the world by Town & Country magazine. Owned and run by Gino Gentile, winner of the Shoe Service Institute of America's (SSIA's) prestigious Silver Cup for shoe repairs, the shop specialized in premium shoes, holding contracts with Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Hermes etc.

In 2011, Dewi began a new phase in his training and started working with pedorthist and orthopaedic shoe specialist, Arnie Davis (C.Ped.) at his foot clinic in San Francisco. The clinic specializes in Diabetic foot conditions and Orthopedic shoemaking and alterations.

From these experiences, we understand shoes and will never sell something that doesn't meet our high standards.

In 2015 we purchased new premises in Beaufort Street, Brynmawr.  Our new shop is four times larger than the old one which has enabled us to expand every aspect of the business.
